Libertyville Police Chief Pat Carey held a press conference yesterday afternoon outlining the 
details surrounding the shooting death of a 23-year-old armed man in the Riva Ridge subdivision over the weekend. According to the story in today's Daily Herald, Spencer Foutes had received a DUI in Vernon Hills early Sunday morning. It looks like the Vernon Hills Police drove him home after processing his arrest - that when he apparently started acting violent, prompting his mother to call police. When police arrived, he allegedly pointed his gun at responding officers - that's when one of the officers shot the man twice. He later died at Condell Hospital.
