At approximately 11:23 a.m., Libertyville Police responded to a report of hold-up alarm at Harris Bank, 354 N. Milwaukee Ave.. While enroute, Officers were advised that an armed robbery had occurred approximately 5 minutes earlier, and that the offender had apparently fled the area.
After securing the scene, Officers were able to determine that a female offender entered the bank, handed the teller a note demanding money, and displayed a firearm. No injuries to bank employees or other customers were reported. Libertyville Police have canvassed neighboring businesses in the downtown area in an attempt to ascertain if others may have seen the offender.
The offender is a darker skinned female black, in her mid to late 30’s. She was wearing a grey jacket with a grey hoodie, dark pants, black & white tennis shoes, and a multi-colored scarf. She displayed a small silver handgun.
An undetermined amount of US Currency was taken.
Libertyville Police Detectives are conducting this investigation in conjunction with the FBI.
